Shalini is a Doctoral candidate at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Centre for Russian and Central Asian Studies, School of International Studies working on the topic -‘‘the welfare policies of the state in a neoliberal era: – A case study of Russia (1991-2016).’’ She has also been awarded her MPhil Degree on the topic ‘‘A Study of the Judicial System in Russia (1991-2014)’’ from the same center. Before that, she has received an MA degree in Political Science from BHU.

Within Policy Change Initiative she is associated with the study area of social welfare, human rights, and neo-liberalist policies. Her area of interest includes the domain of welfarism, drug trafficking, the foreign policy of central Asia, human security issues etc. These are strongly highlighted in the academic paper published and presented by her both nationally and internationally. As a public policy scholar at the Policy Change Initiative, she will primarily be working on the various aspects of welfare policies in India.

Currently, she is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi. She also has worked as an Assistant Professor Adhoc at the Department of Political Science, Miranda House, University of Delhi.
