Prerna is a Doctoral candidate in United States Studies Program, Centre for Canadian, United States & Latin American Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She intends to look at the triangular relations between US, China, and Taiwan and explore the prospects of managing peace and stability in East Asia region.
Living by the motto of “Fight for the Right” and following her passion and interests to work on Human Rights issues made her pursue M.Phil. Dissertation on the topic “Criminal Justice System and Racial Injustice in the United States”. She holds a degree in masters in Politics (Specialization in International Studies) from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
As a Public Policy Scholar at the Policy Change Initiative, her study will focus on areas of Social Issues (Discrimination, Inequalities, Race and Ethnicity), International Affairs (Regionalism, Human Rights, United Nations, Drug Trafficking & Counter-Narcotics Policy, and Crime & Criminal Justice), International Law, Defence and Security. Her writings on research have also been featured in ‘World Focus’ and ‘Beyond Diplomacy’ magazine.
Recently, she was recruited as the Junior Research Consultant in the National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi. She has also been part of the ‘Summer Internship Program’ organized by the NHRC and successfully completed the project on ‘Implementation of the Bonded Labour System (Abolishment) Act 1976’.
