Medhavi is a Doctoral candidate at Jawaharlal Nehru University at the Centre of Cinema Studies, School of Arts and Aesthetics, working on ‘The Bollywood Journey Film (1995-2015): Travelscapes and Self-Realizations in Global Times’ under the supervision of Dr. Kaushik BhaumikShe has already been awarded her M. Phil Degree on the topic ‘Unpacking the Contemporary Bollywood Blockbuster: Strategies, Stars, Sequels (2008-15)’ from the same centre. She has a double Masters in Economics (from CCSU, Meerut) and Mass Communication (from GJU, Hissar) and double bachelors in Business Economics (from Gargi College, Delhi University) and Classical Vocal Music (from Bhatkhande School of Music, Lucknow).

She has been associated with multiple fields ranging from Economics to Media and her area of interest is Indian Cinema and the transformations that have occurred in the Bombay Film Industry in the past few decades. She also has few published papers (on subjects of Melodrama, Cinema and the City, Transnational Cinema etc.) and a chapter in a book under Cambridge Scholars Publishing, few of which she has presented as well that reflect her interests strongly.

As a Media scholar at the Policy Change Initiative, she will primarily be working on the changes in media activities ranging from Journalism to Cinema. She has also worked as an Academic Associate at IIMC, that comes under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and handled academic activities, placements and taken lectures for two batches.

Along with that she has interned with The Times of India for two sessions during graduation, worked as a Marketing Consultant with Rhino India and as a Sub Editor at Creative News and Views International. She is also a Blogger in different fields being Lifestyle, Poetry and Food; hence, she would also be working on promotions of our organization on various social media handles for our organization.
