Charusheel is an advanced research fellow at Centre for Political Studies (CPS), Jawaharlal Nehru University and currently writing a thesis titled- ‘‘Pedagogy, Citizenship Education and Social Justice: A Study of Educational Policies in Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh’’. During her MPhil, at Centre for Political Studies she worked on the dissertation titled ‘‘Freedom, Equality, and Capability: A Critique of Amartya Sen’s Approach to Justice’’.
She also holds MA degree in Political Science from Centre for Political Studies, JNU and completed the Project on “Analyzing the Impact of Conditional Cash Transfer Schemes on the Attitude towards Girl Child: A Case Study of Badli Village in Haryana”.
Earlier she has been appointed as a research associate for a project entitled “The Life and Times of Secularism” for University of Pennsylvania Institute for the Advanced Study of India (UPIASI) which was completed under the supervision of Prof. Neera Chandhok. Her project work comprised critical analysis of relevant books, preparation of case studies and compilation of data.
Her research arena spread across social justice, educational policies, educational pedagogy, and women empowerment.
As an education policy scholar with Policy Change Initiative, she will add the valuable ingredients to the public notion of education in India. She considerately put forward her opinion, India is accommodating the largest resourceful base of the youthful population in the world, and a chiseled and structured reformed educational policy would be the need for a better India.
