Prof. Bulbul Dhar is an advisor to PCI and Editor-in-Chief at Governance and Policy Critique (GAP)– Publication arm of The Change Foundation. She has a wealth of teaching and research experience to guide the organization in the right direction. She did her Post-Doctoral work under the prestigious Fullbright fellowship on the topic, ‘‘Global Political Economy.’’ She completed her PhD, at the University of London as a commonwealth scholar on the topic “Politics of Economic Liberalisation in Urban Tanzania”. Prior to that she did her masters in Political Science from Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Her areas of expertise range from Gender and Empowerment, Political Economy and Governance, Human Rights and African Studies. She has been very active in the academic parlances by addressing keynote speeches in many international and national conferences. Currently, she is teaching in the department of political science, Jamia Millia Islamia, since 1998 in the position of an Associate Professor. She teaches postgraduate and undergraduate students in the subjects such as human rights global political economy, contemporary political theory and political sociology. She has also taught as a visiting faculty in many universities across India and worked as a trainer under many UGC capacity building programs. Previously, she was positioned as Honorary Director at Sarojini Naidu Centre for Women’s Studies. She is the member of many national and international academic and professional body, more notably, The Fulbright Commission in India United States-India Educational Foundation and Association of British Scholars, British Council.
